What You’ll Get to Do:

As a CACI-WGI (The Wexford Group International) Concepts Advisor, you will provide advisory assistance to Army and Joint Force Commanders and units operating through the range of military operations primarily at the tactical and operational levels. Mission sets are often ambiguous with multiple DoD and inter-agency stake holders requiring the team to adapt based on the environment at the mission location. You will:

  • Observe, analyze, and identify Army/Joint Force capability gaps and vulnerabilities within different operational environments;
  • Develop and inform the development of rapid operational solutions to the identified gaps;
  • Disseminate solutions and observations to the wider force and appropriate DoD and Inter-Agency communities of interest for integration into training and doctrine.

    More About the Role:

    You will provide advisory support to the US Army as a member of a mixed active duty and consultant team. You will perform tasks directly related to Department of the Army initiatives and be part of an organization combining the skills of seasoned senior level consultants with those of active duty military advisors. Duties include:

  • Identify and assist in developing materiel and non-materiel solutions to capability gaps derived from AWG's tactical observations by conducting DOTMLPF-P analysis.
  • Assist in AWG's rapid solution development process by transitioning solutions to proponents such as the United States Army Centers of Excellence (CoEs), Army Capabilities and Integration Center (ARCIC), and Combined Arms Center (CAC).
  • Solution development is facilitated through project management, building a network of external stakeholders and maintaining awareness of existing capabilities within joint, interagency, intergovernmental, multinational, academic and commercial sectors.
  • Conduct research and experimentation to facilitate solution development or capability demonstrations. Write and maintain information papers, running estimates, quad charts, hasty DOTMLPF-P analysis, and other products on potential materiel and non-materiel solutions.
  • Assist in developing or reviewing military utility assessments (MUA), initial capability documents (ICD), capability development documents (CDD), and capability production documents (CPD).
  • Advise and demonstrate knowledge of and experience in Army operations, capability development, and the Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS).
  • Conduct analysis to support DOTMLPF-P implications of new capabilities and requirements. (two per month or as needed to facilitate solution development).
  • Prepare, edit, and package information papers, quad charts and other documents in support of solution development and emerging asymmetric threats and operational needs (12 per calendar year on average).
  • Conduct technical, editorial and graphics review of documents, publications, and other written and audio/visual materials (two to three per week).
  • Assist project managers and actively participate in IST meetings to facilitate solution development and provide continuity from project initiation through DOTMLPF-P integration (two per month).
  • Support the development of solutions to capability gaps derived from AWG's tactical observations and trends (level of effort determined during Tactical Mission Summary (TMS) reviews).
  • Assist in conducting assessments and market research on emerging technologies and assist in developing plans to continuously optimize technology for improving future capabilities to defeat asymmetric threats (three per month).
  • Provide operational analysis and assessments quarterly to TRADOC Capability Managers (TCMs) within the Capability Development Integration Directorates (CDID).
  • Provide technical and operational expertise to assist development of realistic training and operational scenarios (approximately ten per year).
  • You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Minimum a relevant bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and ten years of relevant experience with the U.S. military, other Federal Government agencies or combination or in lieu of educational requirement possess 15 years' relevant experience
  • Possess knowledge, skills and ability with JCIDS, Army operations, and capability development
  • Experience in Program Management and Capability Development is desired in order to provide support and assistance.
  • Must meet and maintain the physical requirements outlined in the Performance Work Statement. These requirements include maintaining an appropriate level of physical fitness to conduct extended operations in a variety of terrain and environmental conditions and the ability to carry operational load equipment of approximately 55 pounds. Employees shall possess and maintain a level of physical fitness which enables them to operate in field conditions where they may have to, at a minimum, tolerate heat well in excess of 110 degrees in the summer and cold or freezing conditions during the winter. In addition, Employees working under this contract shall be able to pass an age-adjusted Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) on a no-notice or semi-annual basis (as identified in the specific functional task areas-section 5.0). Deployable personnel shall be physically and medically qualified to deploy to OCONUS locations.
  • TS-SCI Security Clearance or possess a SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS-SCI security clearance.
  • These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience in CDD
  • Multiple tours at various operational levels that include a mix of direct combat, operational planning, training development and Ops-Intel fusion.
  • Direct counterinsurgency operational experience in positions from team member through SF BN/Group (SF) or Company through Division/MEF level (Conventional).
  • More than 10 years of service in a Special Operations unit.
  • Advanced proficiency with individual weapons (M4 and M9 minimum), expeditionary communications, trauma and wilderness medical care, and personnel recovery.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize information to develop informed solutions, concepts, and recommendations.
