The Medical Staff Services Manager oversees credentialing and provides coverage for the Director of Medical Staff Services in his/her absence, as needed. This position functions as the Manager of the Medical Staff Services Department and provides oversight of credentialing and privileging including monitoring of all credentialing and privileging processes, quality of work, problem resolution and assurance of regulatory compliance and compliance with CPC policies. This position also serves in assuring compliance with hospital and regulatory policies. This includes interaction with the Chief Medical Officer, Central Processing Center (CPC), HealthOne Credentials Support Center (CSC), hospital departments, outside facilities, administration, physicians including medical staff leadership and Department Chairmen. In addition, the Medical Staff Services Manager will have responsibility for providing administrative support to designated clinical departments including working with the Credentials Chair for credentialing and privileging and coordination of department meetings. Position will interact with college and university representatives to insure timely completion of Teaching Practitioner Agreements. Responsible for ensuring appropriate paperwork and compliance for all student rotations, residency rotations, and/or observations. For us, it's all about people. Education Bachelor??s Degree in Medical Staff Services Science, Business or a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Licensure/Certification NAMSS or CAMSS membership. CPMSM or CPCS preferred or ability to achieve when criteria is met for the certification. Experience Three to five years of progressively more responsible experience, one to two as a supervisor preferred, in medical staff services or credentialing/privileging services. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to educate hospital staff and medical staff as necessary relating to credentialing and privileging prehensive knowledge of medical staff credentialing, medical staff organization structure, and regulatory agency requirements. Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Recognized personal responsibility in striving to support hospital initiatives and department goals. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with competing priorities while remaining calm and displaying excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of Cactus database and Excel preferred.
