Essential Functions:

  • Candidate will work independently to provide architecture-level oversight for multiple projects; work with project lead engineers to ensure engineering designs are sound and fit overall architectural concepts. Also provide full implementation follow-through and documentation requirements.
  • Contribute to System architecture/definition, Use Cases, Network Performance analysis.
  • Plan, design, and engineer scalable, redundant IP multi-protocol solutions required to support project requirements.
  • Implement/maintain strong network architectures to include physical and virtual environments.
  • Work with project lead engineers to ensure project schedules are being met and identify any constraints/concerns.
  • Ensure technical documents are developed and adhere to strict output specifications, meet project requirements, and written at a high-quality engineering level.
  • Responsible for interfacing with the network engineering team and the (internal/GOV) IA teams - Cybersecurity. Support consists of (but not limited to) providing input to Basis of Estimates (BOE), proposals, and responses to customer technical requests.
  • Perform hardware scans, analysis, and documenting findings.
  • Support/facilitate customer meetings and ensure compliance with project requirements and overall architectural design.
  • Provide SME-level Network Engineering knowledge and support to customer; includes briefings, vendor support, and system evaluations.
  • Provide training/guidance for junior engineers.
  • Support Network Engineering activities pertaining to day-to-day operations and management, requirements analysis, management & compliance, design milestones and test/verification activities.
  • Provide technology refresh, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk supportability, and effectiveness analyses for the network architecture.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience; Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification (e.g. CCNA-Security, CySA+, GISCP, GSEC, Security + CE, or SSCP).
  • Preferred Additional Skills:

  • TS/SCI with active Poly is highly desired.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 3 certification (e.g. CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, or GCIH).
  • SME-level, hands-on knowledge of firewalls; including Cisco, Palo Alto, and VMware.
  • SME-level, hands-on knowledge routing, switching, access-lists, and IP subnetting.
  • Strong technical skills in areas of network and firewall architecture.
  • VMware experience with design, installation, support and optimization; includes VMware vSphere 5.x (6 preferred) vSAN deployments and maintenance/upkeep and VMware vSphere 6 HA/DRS deployments.
  • RedHat IPA, Puppet, and Splunk configuration and customization background.
  • Storage technologies (SAN, fibre channel, iSCSI, FCoE, etc.), preferred experience designing and implementing storage solutions.
  • Strong fault isolation/identification skills; analytical skills and experience with forward/reverse chaining troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of DISA STIG process/requirements.
  • Vendor certifications (i.e. Cisco, Juniper, etc.) in routing and switching, firewall, and/or other network disciplines.
  • Experience with customer and subcontractor technical interfacing.
  • Experience with Space operations is highly desirable.
  • Domain knowledge of Network Management Systems & NetOps (NetBoss, Tivoli or equivalent).
  • Domain knowledge of Cisco Firepower Management System and Firesight IPS on Cisco ASA.
  • Domain knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) basic AAA policy, custom command sets, command shells using RADIUS and TACACS+.
  • Network scripting experience using BASH, Python, and Powershell for daily tasks.
  • Domain knowledge of Cisco IOS PKI CA server or integration of Cisco devices into an existing PKI infrastructure.
  • Network Security Technology to include encryption (HAIPE, IPSec, IKEv2, PKI).
  • Previous experience supporting DoD/government customers.
  • Project leadership/project experience working individually or team oriented.
